May 19 CHMS Spring Concert

Alex playing the tenor sax with the beginning band.

Nathan playing the baritone sax in regular band.

The boys with their band teacher. He is an amazing teacher.
He has greatly increased the size of the middle school band.
And taught the kids to have a love of music. The high school
band is going to be awesome in a couple of years.

Catching Up --- Finally -- 6 new posts

DISNEYLAND!
In February we took the kids.
In March Bryan and I went.

Finding our Brick.

Ahhh......you got my foot!

Our favorite ride.
Screamin' in California Adventures.
Can you find us?
No way was Steph riding.

Random Pics

We can't take Alex to Disneyland without walking
down to the Lego Store in Downtown Disney.
The boy loves his Legos.

Nathan loves being in the middle school Jazz Band.

Go helmet hair -- yikes.
I had a Friday a couple of months ago when, due
to all sorts of reasons, none of my daycare kids
needed me. I loved having a day off with Bryan.
I talked him into taking the four wheelers out
for a ride. I packed us a picnic and we rode down
to the river.

Brylie worked really hard this year
on her times tables. These are her awards.

Easter

For the last several years it has been a tradition
to camp at the Valley of Fire State Park for Easter.
We go with all of Bryan's family. This year his aunt
and some of her kids and grandkids joined us.
It was fun to have them there.

Setting up camp.
Ned, (Bryan's step dad) always
helps us hang something
red, white, and blue.

VeeAnn, (Bryan's mom) always has fun
things for the kids to do. And they love the
Easter egg hunt and all the prizes.
She is very generous and we love her lots.

There were so many pretty flowers in bloom.

The kids love climbing all over the rocks.
I usually take lots of pics of them on top of the rocks
but, I guess I forgot to get around to it this trip.
(Steph took a great one of my three kids that she
framed and gave me for Mother's Day.)

Memorial at Moab

On April 18 Bryan, Julie and Nathan
traveled to the crash site near the
Moab Airport. (We could see the airport
from the crash site.)
I (Julie) was very nervous about going to see the site.
However, it was an neat experience.
I'm glad I had the chance to be there for the Memorial.
Some high school kids from Cedar put it all together.
They did a fantastic job. They had to get special permission
from the BLM to have the marker placed there. It's one of
two that the BLM has ever allowed.

I think this is where the plane first hit the ground.

It's hard to see in the picture but this is the large
burned strip where the plane slid across the top of the hill.

Then it slid down this slop.
It stopped at the bottom of this hill,
where they placed the large rock
with the plaque on it.

Camping At Zion RV

We don't usually camp at an RV park,
but we love this one.
It is the only 5 star RV Park.
It is just outside of Zion Nat'l Park.

Zion the Lion

Bryan sure can grill up a great meal.
(He usually isn't this fashion challenged,
it was chilly and he was desperate.
He's really showing off his Disney clothes.)

We felt a little out of place.
The host stuck us in between a
bunch of fancy coaches.
Ahhh.....someday.

More Pics

So glad I get to spend 8hrs a day
with this sweet little one

5K

On Saturday, I participated in my first official 5k. I had only prepared for about a week before so I walked most of it. My friend and I walk that far every morning. I hope to cut my time in half. I haven't done much exercising for several years. Now I'm up at 5am for walking, counting calories all day, and working out at the gym most evenings. I'm in a contest. I joined the contest at the last minute and they told me Nathan was too young to join. Then when it was too late to sign up I found out that he wasn't too young. I had just talked to the wrong person. So he's not official but they let him do all the training with me. It's nice to have something we can do together. Bryan is very supportive. I can't seem to get dinner ready soon enough so he gets left to finish cooking and serving. So far, he has liked all my new recipes. Now if I could just get him to walk with me. Our family goal is that all of us participate in the 5K in Kanosh this summer. We all have a lot of work to do. (Janeece you inspire me but not enough to post a picture. :) )

Princess Cassidy

Cassidy is out of ICU! YEAH!!!From the Carepage:1/24/2009 1:15 p.m.Cassidy is doing really well today. She has been able to eat some soft foods and had pancakes, pears, and apple juice for breakfast. She is smiling and watching TV. Her throat is sore, and her voice is very quiet, but she was able to whisper, "Hi Grandma, I love you, Bye Bye," to my mom this afternoon. She has a pink wand that she has been waving around for therapy. Earlier today she was waving it at everyone and saying "Frog", but when Dr. Filloux got there, she said "Prince". He was really flattered. We love Dr. Filloux! Her brain takes longer than usual to respond to things right now, which is to be expected. They are adding Phenobarbital to her anti-seizure medications so that they can slowly decrease the Dilantin (it can have undesirable side effects in children). Her EEG is looking good. :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-)
1/25/2009 12:00 p.m.
Cassidy is still doing well, except for an increase in her potassium level and having her days and nights mixed up. They gave her Phenobarb late yesterday afternoon which knocked her out for a while. So she was awake (and so was her dad) a lot of the night. Dr. Filloux said the EEG is the best it has looked so far. Hurray!!!
1/26/2009 10:30 a.m.Cassidy is still doing well. We are so happy! They may take the EEG off today, and they might remove the catheter. I'm sure that will feel great. Cassidy does her physical therapy from her bed. She has not been out of bed yet. She gets really tired. Her voice is still only a whisper. She ate eggs and oatmeal for breakfast. Her potassium is still high, but they are watching that.
1/26/2009
Cassidy got the EEG off and all cleaned up this afternoon. I posted a picture. She is still a bit puffy, but she looks great!!!
Looking good Cassidy! You are such a little fighter and we are all still pulling for you.

Girl Time

On the evening of the 9th Brylie and I went to see "Bride Wars". We went with our friends, Bailee and her mom Janeece. We had a fun time. The movie is really cute and I loved it. I can't wait to buy it on DVD and watch it a bunch more times. Stephanie was sick and went to the doctor instead. We missed her.

Then the next morning, Brylie and I went to Las Vegas to see "High School Musical on Ice" This time we went with our friends, Oakley and her mom Jennifer. The show was wonderful. The cast was well put together. We all
enjoyed it. After the show
we went to lunch at T.G.I. Fridays. I hadn't been there in along time. The food was yummy-thanks Jen. Santa forgot to bring Steph a
ticket and felt bad all day.

Thanks Brylie for being my
daughter. I love spending time with you.
I love you.-Mom
