Cassidy is out of ICU! YEAH!!!From the Carepage:1/24/2009 1:15 p.m.Cassidy is doing really well today. She has been able to eat some soft foods and had pancakes, pears, and apple juice for breakfast. She is smiling and watching TV. Her throat is sore, and her voice is very quiet, but she was able to whisper, "Hi Grandma, I love you, Bye Bye," to my mom this afternoon. She has a pink wand that she has been waving around for therapy. Earlier today she was waving it at everyone and saying "Frog", but when Dr. Filloux got there, she said "Prince". He was really flattered. We love Dr. Filloux! Her brain takes longer than usual to respond to things right now, which is to be expected. They are adding Phenobarbital to her anti-seizure medications so that they can slowly decrease the Dilantin (it can have undesirable side effects in children). Her EEG is looking good. :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-)1/25/2009 12:00 p.m.
Cassidy is still doing well, except for an increase in her potassium level and having her days and nights mixed up. They gave her Phenobarb late yesterday afternoon which knocked her out for a while. So she was awake (and so was her dad) a lot of the night. Dr. Filloux said the EEG is the best it has looked so far. Hurray!!!
1/26/2009 10:30 a.m.Cassidy is still doing well. We are so happy! They may take the EEG off today, and they might remove the catheter. I'm sure that will feel great. Cassidy does her physical therapy from her bed. She has not been out of bed yet. She gets really tired. Her voice is still only a whisper. She ate eggs and oatmeal for breakfast. Her potassium is still high, but they are watching that.

Looking good Cassidy! You are such a little fighter and we are all still pulling for you.
